Screen comparison CRT Positives: Higher viewing angles Less expensive Negatives: Bulky Outdated technology 42" widescreen limit High power comsumption --- PLASMA Positives: Coming down in price Negatives: Not as good with movement/changing images (check response times) Can have lower viewing angles --- LCD Positives: Best at larger sizes - 37"+ Most natural colours Good for fast moving images Negatives: Not great in brightly lit rooms Can suffer from burn-in of static images Geeky Fact: LCD will use less power if the picture is predominantly black than it does if it is mainly white. This is because there is a constant backlight and crystals must be instructed to prevent the light passing through to produce black. |
