Search Engine Conversion Rates

A study out 15th Feb claims to show which search engines have the best conversion rate for business-to consumer e-commerce sites Read about it here

AOL comes out of this with a 6.17% conversion rate, as opposed to Google which has a mere 3.83%. A 'demographics' explanation is offered for this. Not sure if I buy this.

Lock IE history

The following registry tweak is supposed to prevent users deleting history in IE. Insert usual disclaimer about registry editing not being for beginners here.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Control Panel]
"History"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Control
Panel]
"History"=dword:00000001

If the second key doesn't exist, ignore it.

Photoshop scratch disk full error

This usually means your startup disk is nearly full.

You can do various things to try fix this.

1. Clear out some files you don't need. A free program called CCleaner can be pretty useful here on a PC.

2. If you won't need to undo anything you have done already with the image, you can clear out the edit history by edit > purge > all

3. If you have another partition or drive with more space than the current startup, you can change the order of the default scratchdisks by going edit > preferences > plug-ins & scratch disks. Put your drive with the most free space first.
