Upgrading DocMan from http://www.mambodocman.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=36&Itemid=2 "Upgrading to RC 2 and translations Friday, 30 September 2005 After a new release a common question is 'how do I upgrade DOCMan'. At the moment Mambo or Joomla don'tt support component upgrades. This will hopefully change in the future. Until then u need to upgrade DOCMan manually, the best way todo so is a simple 3 step process. Backup your whole database Uninstall the current DOCMan version Install the new DOCMan version Restore your database backup" - warning: when I went through the process above I first found the restore wouldn't work with the original database in place. Once I had deleted the existing database I discovered I was unable to restore from backup because some of the field names used were reserved words in SQL. If you know how to do it I would recommend leaving the original database in place and just repopulating the docman tables in it after the upgrade, then see note about errors after upgrade below - Latest release (at 10/11/06) is 1.3 RC2 Useful modules for 1.3 RC2 only...
